Shantytown in Westport. One of Jackson's new passions is panning for gold. Unfortunately we didn't get any photos in our excitement to find our own gold. : )
Once back in Hokitika, Jackson was adamant he was going to find more gold. So off we went to one of the rivers armed with our frying pan...alas no gold to be found.
The Hokitika gorge was stunning. I was captivated by the colour of the water.
